Safety
If someone makes you feel unsafe, use the ⋯ menu on their profile, in a call or in a conversation to report or block them. Blocking is instant and permanent: you will never see each other again. If you are in danger, call 911.
Your account
- Signing in: Brief uses your US phone number and a code sent by text message.
- Deleting your account: Account tab → Delete account. It removes your profile, selfies and conversations.
- Age check: Brief is for adults 18 and over. If you were blocked by mistake, correct your age in your Apple Account settings and tap Check again, or email us.
- Messages on a new phone: messages are end-to-end encrypted with a key kept on your phone. A new phone set up without a backup of your old one cannot show earlier messages.
Plans and purchases
- Purchases are made through Apple. To see or manage them, open Settings on your iPhone → your name → Subscriptions or Purchase History.
- Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Bought on another phone? Account → Plans → Restore purchases.
For parents and network admins
Brief is for adults only. To keep it off a home, school or work network, block the domain brief87.com (with its subdomains) in your router, DNS filter or firewall. Brief cannot sign in, show anyone or connect a call without it.
Brief always uses your network's own DNS. It has no built-in encrypted DNS, no hard-coded server addresses and no fallback routes, so a block on brief87.com is respected. On iPhone, Screen Time's App Store age limit of 17+ or lower also keeps Brief off a child's phone.
